WATER CYCLE PROJECT

Project topic
This project was conducted to examine how the energy of flowing water can be converted
into rotational motion when it strikes a propeller made of plastic materials.

Project Aim
To demonstrate that the kinetic energy of water as a source of energy.
To observe energy transformation through a simple experiment.

Materials Used in the Project
Plastic bottle
Wooden base
Hot glue
Plastic spoons
Stick pieces
Transparent hose
Metal piece
Straw

How My Project Works
Water is directed through hoses.
The water flowing from above hits the plastic parts attached to the propeller. As a result of
this impact, the propeller begins to rotate.

My Observations
When the water was poured from a higher point and at a faster rate, the propeller rotated
faster.
When the end of the hose was narrowed, the propeller rotated more quickly.
It was important to attach the plastic pieces evenly and in alignment with the direction of
the water flow; otherwise, the propeller did not rotate.

Conclusion
Through this project, I learned that water is not only used for drinking but can also produce
energy. Water has power and can cause objects to move.
